Kona Process 134 Deluxe 27.5 (650b) 2014 -
The big 27.5" wheels on this Kona enduro bike are WTB tubeless compatible i23 TCS rims the traction and grip is from Maxxis Ardent 27.5x2.4" EXO front and 2.25" EXO rear. Kona have used oversized bearings for ultimate suspension performance; keeping the BB low, tweaking the leverage rate curve so the bike stays high in the travel and pedals smoothly.
A great mix of Shimano Deore, XT and SLX means quality components that will endure. Shimano hydraulic braking provides superb stopping power and generates ultimate confidence in pushing the bike and yourself to the limit thrashing down the trails.
The Kona rocker independent suspension is supported by RockShox Monarch RT at the rear and RockShox Revelation RL Solo Air forks at the front with 140mm of travel. The forks have adjustable rebound and are lockable.
Kona 7005/6061 Aluminium Butted
Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminium alloys are used extensively throughout the fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. The benefits of this material is the tubings wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as shaped, allowing Kona to fine-tune a particular frames strength and the individual ride characteristics depending on its intended application. A tough, durable, affordable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides.
Rocker Independent Suspension
With Rocker Independent Suspension Kona found a healthy balance between the down and the up, while also designing a suspension platform that was as compact and low-slung on the frame as possible for maximum standover, stiffness and manoeuvrability. Kona developed the Rocker Independent Suspension to achieve all of these goals by creating a consistent leverage rate curve that perfectly matches currently available air shocks. This allows the suspension to provide a stable pedalling platform, while giving the rider a predictable feel throughout the travel.
27.5 Inch Wheels
The Kona Process 134 Deluxe now comes fitted with 27.5" wheels, this means it is better at rolling over obstacles and tracks better than 26 inch wheels whilst staying manoeuvrable and more nimble than 29-inch wheels.
Tapered headtubes are not just for improving the aesthetics of your bike, due to its cleaner lines and smooth transition between the fork crown and headset cover, tapered headtubes offer a more solid connection between the frame and forks. This connection helps to distribute shock force better prolonging the life of the headset itself.
Dropper posts are a key element in riding technical single track. Kona have ensured cable routing exists on the Process 134 deluxe to allow for after-market upgrades.
Tubeless Compatible Rims
The Kona Process 134 features the benefits of tubeless compatible rims. Tubeless rims allow for tyres with more puncture resistance, better tyre grip on the trail, lower rolling resistance and weight savings over traditional tube & tyre systems.
Kona warrants to the original owner that their new Kona bicycle frame purchased from an authorized Kona dealer shall be free of defective materials or workmanship for the lifetime of ownership by the original owner. Please see the Kona owners manual, provided with your bicycle, for additional information.
